bOOK AWARDS

The World Affairs Forum gives a limited number of book awards to deserving students in international studies or foreign language achievements.  Have your high school contact us to join our program.

Carmen Romero, a junior at Greenwich High School, was presented with the Barbara Chisolm Memorial Book Award on May 20,2008, in recognition of her excellence in international studies.  The book selected for the award was a signed copy of The Silicon Dragon:  How China is Winning the Tech Race by Rebecca Fannin.  The late Barbara Chisolm was Executive Director of the World Affairs Forum from 1988 to 1999.  Since she was a resident of Greenwich, the Forum decided to award a book to a student at Greenwich High School every year to commemorate Barbara's dedication to the Forum and to the World Affairs Councils of America, of which she was Chairman of the Board from 1998 to 2001.
