Your contribution helps us expand understanding of global affairs and America’s role in the world by:

  • Bringing leading authorities to our community
  • Sponsoring lively discussions with foreign policy and economic experts on today’s headlines
  • Awarding college study abroad scholarships
  • Engaging the public in world events

In today’s chaotic world, first-hand knowledge and in-person conversation are more critical than ever.

With limited resources and only 2 full-time staff, we work hard to bring you timely programs with renowned speakers.

Your gift will allow us to continue to host more than 25 programs each year under the AR, Forum and Great Decisions banners, as well as the Norman Woodberry Scholarship. Thank you for your commitment to staying engaged in the global issues that affect us all, and for your support of the World Affairs Forum!

  • Appropriate signage at the event, including a banner
  • Company literature available at the event
  • Corporate representative may introduce the speaker
  • Other appropriate thanks during the event
  • Free admission for four corporate representatives to the event
SPONSORSHIP OPTIONS

Sponsors may wish to establish an initial relationship with the World Affairs Forum by supporting an individual program.  Options for one-time or multiple sponsorships include the following:

AMBASSADORS’ ROUNDTABLE SERIES – $1500/Event

The Ambassadors’ Roundtable Series is our executive briefing series, which consists of 8 events held at the Stamford Yacht Club: six breakfast programs and two dinner programs.  Each program features a prominent speaker on an international topic of interest.  The sponsor of an AR event is given credit in all press information, may display company materials at the event, and serve as the presider, a role that includes introducing the speaker.

WORLD AFFAIRS FORUM SERIES – $1500/Event plus the post program dinner

The World Affairs Forum presents four programs a year at the Ferguson Library in downtown Stamford.  These events begin with a reception/networking opportunity at 5:45 pm and are followed by the speaker’s presentation beginning at 6:15 pm.  Time is provided for audience questions and the program concludes at 7:30 pm.  Press releases include the name of the sponsor and the sponsor is invited to display a banner or other signage at the event.  In addition, the sponsor offers the formal introduction of the speaker to the audience.

“The Hacked World Order” with Dr. Adam Segal, 10/19/16

“Myth-Busting: Immigration Today” with Aleksandr Troyb, 12/14/16

“The European Union and the UK After Brexit” with Dr. David Cameron, 1/25/17

“What ISIS Really Wants” with Graeme Wood, 3/15/17

NORMAN WOODBERRY SCHOLARSHIP – $2500 and up

The Norman Woodberry study abroad scholarships are for college students who either live in or attend college in Fairfield County, CT or Westchester County.

GREAT DECISIONS – $1500 for 2-event series at each library

This is a series of programs with a visiting expert held at the Norwalk Library and the Greenwich Library on current topics of concern to America selected by the Foreign Policy Association in New York.  A briefing book accompanies the series and includes ballots for each participant to register his/her personal views.  The FPA compiles the results, which are then presented to the White House, the Congress and the State Department.

SPECIAL EVENTS – Cost dependent upon program type and location.

The Forum sponsors special events beyond those programs listed above.  These events often are the result of a unique opportunity to hear from a senior government official, ranking diplomat, best-selling author or other special speaker on short notice.  An example is our Annual Economic Trends Lecture.

Also included in this category are our fundraising events, such as WorldQuest.
